2018 Nothern Ohio FCA Banquet

Hannah Calhoun giving the state of the ministry address at this year's banquet.

On May 10th, almost 200 people gathered together at our 4th annual Hall of Fame Area FCA Banquet. It was a fantastic evening celebrating all the Lord has done this past year and looking forward to how our refined vision, mission, and strategy will focus us this upcoming year. We had the opportunity to recognize and honor a few people who have been stand-outs this past year within FCA.

  • Senior athlete Jaret Pallotta was awarded the Don Cockroft Award of Excellence while senior athlete Lynlea Caley was awarded the Renee Powell Award of Excellence. Both athletes have made a lasting impact at their respective schools and we are thankful for their leadership this past year. Good luck to Jaret and Lynlea with your future endeavors!
  • Coach Adam Hall was chosen as the award recipient for the Sue Ramsey Coach of the Year award. Thank you Coach Hall for using your platform to influence athletes and other coaches for Christ!
  • Kent Smith was awarded the Huddle Leader of the Year award. We are grateful for your many years of leadership and service for FCA at Orrville High School.

Coach Sue Ramsey was our keynote speaker and challenged us to know our role, and use it to influence those around us. She encouraged us to not be the missing puzzle piece in someone's life. Thanks Coach Ramsey for your powerful message! On behalf of the Hall of Fame Area FCA Staff, we want to thank all of our sponsors who made this night possible, the donations for our silent auction, all of the attendees, and all who answered the call to give financially to this ministry. God is good, great, and generous, and we are excited to enter into a new year of ministry impacting coaches and athletes for Christ!

Fulfilling the Vision of FCA

Since its inception in 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has continued to grow while staying committed to founder Don McClanen's vision of coaches and athletes influencing the world for Christ. Today, through God's grace, FCA is more strongly poised to continue fulfilling his vision around the world. As we continue to pray, re-evaluate, and refine the ministry of FCA, God continues to guide our thoughts and ideas.

Recently, FCA President, Shane Williamson launched the Fulfilling the Vision initiative.  This initiative clarifies FCA's vision to become an even more compelling picture of the ministry's desire to see world-wide transformation by Jesus Christ. Fulfilling the Vision also brings clarity to the ministry's mission, strategy and methods while remaining anchored in our four core values. As it matures, FCA seeks to make disciples by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

Check out this video the will give you an overview of FCA's refined Vision and Mission, as well as insight into our ministry strategy and methods.  We believe this clear strategy gives us the focus we need to invest in coaches, who have the most influence in athletes' lives. The heart of the ministry remains The Gospel, but we are going to focus our energy into engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches.

Join FCA as a staff Area Rep!

We have an opportunity for additional FCA staff in NE Ohio and we are praying for God to send laborers into His harvest field. Is He calling you? Check out this great opportunity here!

Prayer Requests:

  • For our student leaders on each campus – pray that they would use the powerful weapon of prayer to spur on the “impossible” in their own lives and in their schools
  • For continued open doors as Tristan, Tyler, Deb, and Bob pursue their financial partnership goals
  • For God to order our steps as we pursue some amazing partnership opportunities with local organizations
  • For God to raise up additional staff for our area so that our ministry may continue to grow both deep and wide.
